Treasures 4 Teachers ‘Pops- Up’ at Goodyear Ballpark

Post Date:06/25/2018 9:45 AM

Treasures 4 Teachers has found a way to support educators by collaborating with community businesses, other non-profit agencies, and individual donors to collect new and re-usable resources and make them available for low or no cost to educators in our community.

Supporting teachers is critical. “Teaching is the one profession that teaches all others” says Barbara Blalock, Executive Director of Treasures 4 Teachers.  “Where would we be if we didn’t have a teacher to educate and inspire us?”

Barbara expands by saying, “Treasures 4 Teachers has always been available to educators all over the state, but we often hear that they cannot access the supplies they need because of the long commute.”

When city of Goodyear officials became aware of this need, they quickly responded by offering a 2,000 sq. foot retail space at the Goodyear Ballpark Team Shop, 1933 Ballpark Way, for T4T to host a ‘West Valley Pop-Up Resource Center’. This will give educators the opportunity to experience a taste of all that Treasures 4 Teachers offers-for a limited time!

“As mayor of Goodyear, I am proud to support our teachers and provide them with the resources they need,” said Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord. “We’ve partnered with the local schools on programs like Building Blocks and school safety. This is just another way the city can lend a hand to help these individuals who are committed to teaching our children.”

The cost of a membership to the West Valley ‘Pop-Up’ Resource Center is just $10 and will allow members unlimited shopping at this location only during the event. If desired, this fee may be applied towards the purchase of a full annual membership (normally $35) at Treasures 4 Teachers.

Recognizing the positive impact that T4T has already had on the East Valley community of educators and students, law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP, a long-time supporter of T4T, has generously agreed to pay the ‘Pop-Up’ membership fees for the first 500 educators who come to shop at the Goodyear location with proof of educator status.

The West Valley ‘Pop Up’ will be open for a limited time! Shop July 13-Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. There are also plans for a permanent West Valley location in the near future. Please follow the Treasure 4 Teachers Facebook and Instagram pages for updates and more detailed information.
