Call for entries: Young artists sought for scholarship program

 

Sixth annual scholarship program to reward Goodyear students

 

Mayor’s Select Art Awards: Call for Entries
Image Deadline: March 20
Selection Panel: March 27
Artists Notified: March 31
Recognition Ceremony: April 7

 

Goodyear, Ariz. (Feb. 5, 2018) - For the sixth year in a row, the Mayor’s Select Art Awards will offer $1,700 in scholarships to Goodyear’s aspiring young artists. Students are invited to submit their original works of art for consideration in the spring 2018 Mayor Select Art Show before the March 20 deadline. Winners will be selected at the end of March and recognized at the Goodyear Lakeside Music Festival on April 7.

The contest is open to all students who reside in Goodyear and are currently enrolled in grades six through 12 in a public, private, charter or alternative school. Scholarships are made possible through a partnership between Palm Valley Pediatric Dentistry, the Goodyear Arts & Culture Commission, and the city of Goodyear in a shared vision of helping advance education, create public dialogue and inspire civic pride through the arts.
